Study report "Social enterprise in Vietnam - Concept, context and policies"
Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) in association with the British Council (BC) in Hanoi and Centre for Social Initiatives Promotion (CSIP) jointly conducted a study entitled “Social enterprise in Vietnam - Concept, context and policies”, aiming to achieve two main objectives: (i) to promote social awareness about social enterprise; and (ii) to lay a foundation for policy discussion for further development of social enterprises in Vietnam.

 

 The study is structured into two major parts: Part I presents a comprehensive analysis of the concept of social enterprise in the world and Vietnam, together with the analysis of overview development of social enterprises in Vietnam over different periods of time; Part II starts with the analysis of international experiences in setting up legal framework and supporting solutions for social enterprises; next the paper deals with the analysis of social enterprise situation in Vietnam, thereby proposing a number of policy recommendations for further development of social enterprises in Vietnam.
