CIEM honored in “Vietnam Glory - Imprints of 30 years of renewal"

On 20/05/2017, Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) was among 30 individuals and entities were honored in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to national construction and defense in the ceremony themed “Vietnam Glory-Imprints of 30 years of renewal".       

At the ceremony, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stated that these were distinguished representatives for thousands of organizations, and millions of labourers in Vietnam who had partly contributed to the remarkable imprints, as well as the bright picture of the society, with dramatical widespread effects to other individuals and entities. With the intellectual of Vietnamese people, the Prime Minister believes there will be more samples of elite people with significant contribution to the better and more glorious future of Vietnam.

The Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the member of the Politburoand Chairman of the Central audit committee Tran Quoc Vuong, the Vice Chainman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu, and the Chairman of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour had granted awards to 12 organizations and 18 individuals – who had contributed to the cause of reform, construction and protection of the socialist Vietnamese fatherland.

CIEM is one of the 12 collective honorees for having dramatic achievements in in the cause of national renewal.

As a national-level and think-tank institute belonging to MPI, CIEM  has always proactively initiated and conducted researches of fundamental, creative and new issues to give on-time and effective advice to the Party and the State on economic renovation policies.  Institute has contributed directly and indirectly to the cause of administrative reform and accelerated the process of comprehensive renovation and reform of the economy; in addition, the Institute has also contributed largely to the training and fostering of the middle and senior economic management staff of the Party and the State.

As a national research institution, under the direct guidance of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Central Institute for Economic Management has made continuous efforts to conduct research and consultancy on economic policies for the Party and the State to provide solutions to fight inflation, stabilize the macro economy, and participate in international economic integration, etc., contributing to the cause of national rennovation and economic development towards "rich people, strong country, democratic society, justice and civilization"..

Over 5 years from 2012-2016,CIEM has been assigned to be in charge of many policy projects and studies, as well as legal document drafts to submit MPI, the Prime Minister, and the Government, particularly, CIEM conducted 23 projects and policy reports in 2012, the number was 15 in 2013, 17 in 2014, 11 in 2015 and 19 in 2016./.
