Vietnam/Japan Emerging Researchers Forum 2017 “Enhancing Vietnam-Japan Industrial Cooperation to Effectively Implement the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement

On 3 March 2017, the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) collaborated with the Graduate School of Public Policy (GraSPP) of the University of Tokyo to organize Vietnam – Japan Emerging Researchers Forum 2017 on “Enhancing Vietnam-Japan Industrial Cooperation to Effectively Implement the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement”. The event was held at Pullman Hanoi Hotel with the financial support from the Toshiba International Foundation (TIFO).

The Scheme ’Developing and Completing the Capital and Monetary Market in Vietnam’, submitted to the government and the Politburo of the Vietnam Communist Party

The scheme aims to sum up the theories of efficient capital markets, and to draw relevant lessons from the successes and failures in the development of financial markets in developing countries, particularly in East Asian and transition countries such as China. It also reviews the actual situation of the capital and monetary markets in Vietnam. Based o­n the theories, international experiences and actual conditions in Vietnam, the scheme has recommended appropriate policies to improve and further develop capital and monetary markets in Vietnam

Research Report on Enhancement of Vietnamese Supporting Industries
Supporting industry is one of the most important industries for Vietnam. However Vietnamese supporting industry has been lag behind comparing to neighboring countries especially in terms of technical aspect. Now that Vietnamese supporting industry has faced harshly competitive international global market, it is an urgent task for Vietnamese supporting industry to raise technical competitiveness. The purpose of this research is to find a possible collaborative area in a supporting industry enhancement policy field between Vietnam and Japan

 

 

Study report "Social enterprise in Vietnam - Concept, context and policies"
Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) in association with the British Council (BC) in Hanoi and Centre for Social Initiatives Promotion (CSIP) jointly conducted a study entitled “Social enterprise in Vietnam - Concept, context and policies”, aiming to achieve two main objectives: (i) to promote social awareness about social enterprise; and (ii) to lay a foundation for policy discussion for further development of social enterprises in Vietnam.
